The Greenpoint Y afterschool program runs from 3-6pm, Monday-Friday. For more information, visit us at www.ymcanyc.org/greenpointor call at 212-912-2260.

Fall/Winter series: Sept 13 – Jan 26

Tuesday, Sept 123-5pm OPEN HOUSE

Come see our space, meet the teachers, and make some art!

Let us fill your child’s afternoons with art, materials, and big ideas! Each week in this drop-off class, we examine works of art and unlock the ideas and processes used by the artists to create them! Projects emphasize process, problem solving, and experimentation, and are designed in response to the students’ interests.

Classes are capped at fifteen students, with at least one teacher to every five children. Young artists collaborate and make their own work, and have “open studio” time to experiment with materials of their choosing. Class fees include all supplies and a sketchbook to keep. Each series culminates in an Art Show and Party for family and friends to celebrate!

Discounts for buddies, siblings and multiple days!

wBees Forest School

We envision an after-school program that feels like a huge departure from the school day. It should be a time and place to restore and rejuvenate the creative spirit.

We have a vision for an after-school program that allows children to be outside digging, running, climbing, spinning and engaging in creative and fantastical play out of doors. Our after-school students get a large chunk of time to play in nature in our outdoor classroom McGolrick Park. Children will experience wonderful enrichment that expands the body and soul such as getting to forest, garden, create art, dance, do yoga, create STEM projects and even move through a Montessori work cycle. But most importantly, our students get to initiate their play and learning and grow as a small-knit community in our lovely classroom environment. This will be a creative respite from their school day.

wBees Forest School will be offering pickup for all students (preK through third grade) from PS 31, PS 34 and PS 110.  All of our teachers are either educators or working artists. Starting in the fall of 2017, we will have our regular ASP at 3 Russell Street. We are also happy to announce that we are planning to offer an entirely French immersion after-school program at our new nearby 163 Bayard Street location opening this fall. Both of our Russell and Bayard locations will offer the same opportunities to be outdoors for much of the program and both will be an arts-rich experience.
