programs that pick up from PS 34:
Ms. J’s PUP (Pick up and Play) runs from the first day of school until the last day of school. We pick up students by foot or car service from 6 different North Brooklyn schools. We provide small class sizes (student to coach ratios are 6 to 1 for kiddos under 6yo and 8 to 1 for kiddos over 6yo). We offer homework assistance, craft time, structured and unstructured play.
Participants enjoy 2 classes everyday! The program features one gymnastics class and one specialty class including Ninja, Bouldering, Modern & Contemporary Dance, Jazz & Ballet, and Theater.
Nueva York Kiddos' Spanish Immersion After-School Program for kids 5 yrs old+, offers pick-up from PS34 and most schools in the District 14.
Students enjoyed playing outdoors before each class (weather permitting), and learn about different cultures through creative visual lessons, fun hands-on projects, music, games and experiments.
Art After School at Eckford Street Studio is a drop-off program for children in grades PreK-5. Pick-up from PS34 is available every day school is in session. Classes are capped at fifteen students, with a 1:5 teacher to student ratio. Young artists collaborate and make their own work, and have "open studio" time to experiment with materials of their choosing. Class fees include all supplies and a sketchbook to keep. Each series culminates in an Art Show for family and friends to celebrate!
Each week, we examine works of art and unlock the ideas and processes used by artists to create them. Projects emphasize process, problem solving, and experimentation, and are designed by experienced Teaching Artists in response to students' interests. We support our students as they develop an authentic and personal artistic practice, whatever that might mean for them. We work in a wide variety of materials and methods, including paint, clay, printmaking, recycled and found objects, natural materials, textiles, and more!
The Ballet Institute aims to bring the highest levels of classical ballet training to as many promising talents as possible. We recognize the deep power of this depth of training and education. It is a value that is immeasurable when producing the next generation of ballet artists, along with the next generation of citizens. IBI fosters education and character in their dancers, preparing them to be truly qualified to take themselves and the art form to the next level of artistic evolution.
Here we seek not only to introduce ballet to potential dancers, but to give those dancers a real chance at developing themselves as multi faceted dance artists and creators. Once they have developed their own gifts they will be equipped to lead the following generations to their own artistic heights, ensuring the futures of the dancers and the dance.
