In-School Options:

  • After School Settlement Association- PS 34

    School Settlement Association-St. Nicks Alliance is a not-for profit organization in Brooklyn which provides comprehensive after school activities for approximately one hundred PS 34 students. This program, which is free of charge to participants, is located on the school premises and operates daily from 2:35 PM to 5:45 PM. The program also runs during the winter recess, spring recess, and summer vacation.  School Settlement Association is available to PS 34 students in grades K-5. A separate application is required.  

    School Settlement Association at PS34 is a school-based program that only enrolls PS34 participants in grades k-5. Families can now begin to sign up online for the 2023-2024 school year. The program runs from the end of the school day to 5:45 pm beginning on September 18, 2023.

    Step 3 - Complete the application and submit.

    Application submission does NOT mean your child/ren are enrolled in the program. If your child is accepted into the program you will receive an acceptance letter via email from Program Director Jose Flores, that is when your child/ren are enrolled in the program.

  • Eckford Street Art Studio- pre-k, Kindergarten, 1st

    We are so excited to bring the art studio to our youngest afterschool artists ONSITE in their own school building. Art After School AT School features projects based on books and works of art with plenty of materials and sensory exploration built in.

    Young artists collaborate and make their own work, and have “open studio” time to experiment with materials of their choosing. Class fees include all materials and a sketchbook to keep. Teaching artists send out class descriptions before each session, and a recap (with plenty of photos) after each class. Groups are capped at ten students to allow for social distancing, and there is at least one teacher for every five students for plenty of one-on-one attention.

  • PS 34 Chess club & team

    From complete beginners to advancing tournament players, our goal is that all PS 34 players can experience both the joy and significant social/educational benefits of learning and playing chess.

    Our team will prepare for local, city, state, and national competitions.

  • WR Arts - Pre-K, Kindergarten

    WR Arts' onsite Enrichment program for Pre-K & K students offers Performing Arts themed programing Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays inside your child's school.  SIBLING DISCOUNTS, FLEXIBLE ENROLLMENT, & PAYMENT PLANS ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE.

  • Ardor School

    ARDOR After School program is offered to all enrolled students, and to all students attending 3K - 5th grade in the local neighborhood area. The program runs Monday - Friday from the school's dismissal time until 6pm, offering the

    following options: Enrichment Programs, such as: Sports,

    STEM, Art, Theater, Media and Storytelling, homework assistance, daily hot meal, indoor gym, private outdoor playground, mini camps during school breaks and free pickup from local schools. Email to register.

  • Art Box Atelier

    Your child will explore different media using all professional materials to often create museum-worthy art pieces. We believe that teaching the creative process fosters growth for creative thinking and problem solving through unique and high quality art instruction. Fun And playful work will trigger your child's imagination and reaction to detail. ArtBox Atelier is proud to offer affordable journey through art education which will help your children develop skills they will use in the future. Email to register.

  • Art101BK

    Our popular after-school program explores a variety of different projects and medium from paper mache, to clay, to painting and more! We put a strong emphasis on allowing children to develop their own creativity as well as working on group projects. Pickup is available from PS34.

  • Broken Bones Skate Club

    In a skate class, you'll receive guidance from experienced instructors who can teach you proper foot placement, balance, pushing, turning, and tricks.

  • Brooklyn Youth Ballet

    Starting this Fall, Brooklyn Youth Ballet will be offering an exceptional ballet program for students right here at PS34. This program is designed to provide an artistic outlet for our children, fostering creativity, discipline, and physical fitness in a supportive environment. Ballet and Tap has numerous benefits, including improved posture, flexibility, and confidence, making it an ideal addition to our students’ educational journey.

  • Clay Space

    Clay Space provides a hands-on afterschool program that puts making at the center. Their youth program is designed to enable children to create with their hands using natural materials, which is more important now more than ever. All classes are taught by their experienced artist educators and their assistants that are all emerging nyc artists in the making. Their Artist Educators lead inquiry based classroom projects that emphasize mindful process and experimentation over cookie-cutter products. By creating a multi-generational approach to teaching and sharing, we look to inspire and infuse the importance of clay and it’s connectivity for many generations. Classes are offered for children ages 6-10. Pickup is offered for PS34 students on WEDNESDAY. Dropoff classes run Tuesday through Thursday 3:30PM - 5:30PM with a late pickup at 6PM.

  • ECKFORD STREET STUDIO

    Art After School at Greenpoint Reformed Church: K-5th grades

    Let us fill your child's afternoons with art, materials, and big ideas! Each week we examine works of art and unlock the ideas and processes used by the artists to create them. Projects emphasize process, problem solving, and experimentation, and are designed in response to the students' interests. 
    Young artists collaborate and make their own work, and have "open studio" time to experiment with materials of their choosing. Class fees include all materials a sketchbook to keep. Each series culminates in an exhibition for family and friends to celebrate! Classes are capped at twelve students and at least two adults for plenty of one-on-one attention. 

    Art After School at GRC takes place Tuesdays (2nd-4th grades), Wednesdays (K-2nd grades), and Thursdays (3rd-5th grades).   • Ferox Athletics

    Program for Ages 6-12, 3-5:30PM, includes homework and snack time, open play and specific classes. Monday: Ninja, Tuesday: Flipping, Wednesday: Parkour, Thursday: Ninja. Contact Ferox for more information.

  • Free Kickers NYC (Soccer)

    Afterschool soccer program at The Post BK, ages 5-10, M-F, 3-5PM. Contact Coach Gabriel at coachgabrielnyc@gmail.com to register. Pickup will be offered if enough parents register.

  • Greenpoint YMCA

    The Greenpoint YMCA afterschool program for ages 4-12 focuses on boosting learning, championing wellness and play, and building competence and confidence in children. The program, located at 99 Meserole Avenue (https://www.google.com/maps/search/99+Meserole+Avenue?entry=gmail&source=g), runs every regular school day, from 3 PM to 6 PM (because learning doesn’t stop at 3!), with pick-up at dismissal from PS34. The Y also offers youth enrichment programs (swimming, soccer, basketball, ballet, and more), holiday camps, and summer camps.

  • Learn French Brooklyn

    French language and multicultural education for children ages 3-8 years. Pick up is at dismissal and then children will be taken to Play Greenpoint. Flexible scheduling options Monday-Friday from 3:00-6:00pm. Extended day available until 7pm.

  • Ms. J’s Gym

    Gymnastics classes and varying specialty classes. Offer homework assistance & craft time.

  • Nueva York (Ages 6+)

    Nueva York Kiddos' Spanish Immersion After-School Program for kids 5 yrs old+, offers pick-up from PS34 on Mondays Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

    Students enjoyed playing outdoors before each class (weather permitting), and learn about different cultures through creative visual lessons, fun hands-on projects, music, games and experiments.

  • New York Society of Play

    New York Society of Play's Afterschool Programs are built on thoughtful curriculum that teaches students how to apply social skills from playing games to the outside world. Pick up is at dismissal.

    Our Fall Semester After School Schedule kicks off the week of September 11th in Greenpoint.  Not only are we bringing back fan-favorites DnD and Fantasy Frontier, we're adding a couple of new activities to our Semester line-up. Pokemon Club and Retro Arcade Club were so popular at our Friday Night Hangouts they are officially on the schedule as of this Fall.

  • NY Martial arts academy

  • PLAY Kids Greenpoint

    Now Enrolling! PLAY Kids Greenpoint After School Program for ages 3-8! With classes for every discipline, PLAY’s offerings are always family favorites! Explore STEM in Robotics & Engineering, try dance and fitness, or dive deeper into art, music and even French.

  • School of Rock

    School of Rock is a performance-based music school for students of all ages and skill levels. We provide a unique, proven method of teaching music in a fun, lively manner in group class as well as programs that pair one-on-one instruction with band rehearsals, culminating in live performances.  It’s a great community where students can meet friends in a vibrant environment and learn to play exciting music together.

  • Skate Yogi

    At SKATEYOGI, we offer skateboarding classes in a fun, creative environment. Our Williamsburg location is located at 58 N. 9th Street at Kent Ave, about 15 min walk from PS 34. Equipped with an indoor skate park and a ramp on our outdoor terrace, our students enjoy skating a variety of terrains and learn not only to skateboard but also to cheer each other on and build a community of friends.

  • Szulinski Academy

    Judo’s training is a perfect improvement of physical strength supported by the strength of peace and bravery. Pick up from PS 34 Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Sign up for 1, 2, or all 3 days. Pick up will be at 4pm from Leonard Street between Meserole and Calyer. Ages 4-8 class 3:00-4:00. Ages 9-12 will offer a class 4:00-5:00. Contact szulinskiw@gmail.com to register your child.

  • Tiny SCIENTIST

    In their state-standard aligned classes, your scientist will conduct experiments, explore new concepts, discuss observations with lab partners, analyze data, make a mess and learn how much fun science can be! Each after school session includes hands-on science and time outdoors.

    Ages 5-11. Pick up from some local schools and extended care available. Tiny Scientist will pick up from a school if there are three children enrolled per day.

  • Geek Forest

    Geek Forest is a family run business. We are total Geeks with a love for tinkering. Geek Forest is a Makerspace: a space where people can gather for DIY projects, collaborations, self-learning, making, exploring, sharing and tinkering. We utilize Maker Education for our after school programs. Geek Forest may offer pickup if enough parents from PS34 register.

  • Tumbleweeds

    Does your child love to explore and create art? Join Tumbleweeds for our after-school art program! In this class your child will join a small group of kids for a private program, which will meet on a weekly basis. The kids will work closely with the instructor and receive plenty of attention and guidance with their artwork. The after-school art lessons & projects will cover a wide range of techniques including, but not limited to sculpture, printmaking, painting, drawing, mixed- media, fiber art, recycled art, earth art, classical art, decorative art and so on! We will begin each class with a lesson and discussion based on our weekly topic then on to our structured project. There will be time to wind down at the end of class and have free drawing time as well as go over what we have learned from that day

  • Goose Grease

    Art-intensive, with a focus on multi-media art making and history learning. Students will gain confidence in their art skills as they work with quality art materials and build their own miniature worlds. Includes a topical or historical lesson, followed by 2 hours of project led art-making time.

    The program is currently drop off only but if there is enough interest, the studio may offer pick up by car service. Location: Goose Grease House for the Arts, 369 Hooper St. between S.2nd and S.3rd, Brooklyn, NY 11211

  • Ms. J’s (Pre-K–5)

    Ms. J’s PUP (Pick up and Play) runs from the first day of school until the last day of school. We pick up students by foot or car service from 6 different North Brooklyn schools. We provide small class sizes (student to coach ratios are 6 to 1 for kiddos under 6yo and 8 to 1 for kiddos over 6yo).  We offer homework assistance, craft time, structured and unstructured play.

    Participants enjoy 2 classes everyday! The program features one gymnastics class and one specialty class including Ninja, Bouldering, Modern & Contemporary Dance, Jazz & Ballet, and Theater.

  • McCarren Tennis

    Integrating USTA Junior Development methods with Spanish footwork training, modern stroke technique and an array of athletic and tennis specific drills, games and exercises. Players progress while enjoying the immediate benefits of tennis: fun, exercise, and healthy competition!

  • Vital Climbing gym

    Vital’s instructors create an engaging experience during this drop-in after school and weekend session. They’ll help your child exercise, make friends, and learn to rock climb! Climbing and exercise provide a great context for kids to learn about team work, leadership, responsibility, and taking on challenges in life. Your child will leave class with a sense of accomplishment and pride! Ages 6-10 years. All levels welcome!

  • Book Club & Creative Writing (Ages 6-12)

    Local parent, writer, and educator, Olivia Marwig, teaches reading and writing to kids ages 6-12. She is leading two after school classes. One is a book club where they will read a single text together with informal and guided discussion. The second is a creative writing workshop that combines writing exercises with editing to improve writing skills. The classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday throughout the school year virtually and in person.

  • Creative Nature NYC

    Join Creative Nature Art Research Sessions this Fall semester. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia pedagogy, we design open ended art experiences where children are invited to use the materials in the studio to create ideas at their own pace. Prompts are set up to stimulate creativity, and staff is present to help facilitate their projects. If you live in Greenpoint or Williamsburg, and have a child that you would love to expose to a sensory art experience, come join us! Ages: 4-10

  • City Kids

    The City Kids Learning Labs are dedicated spaces where afterschool enrichment classes take place. Kiddos can explore being an artist, an inventor, a builder, a chef, an actor, a singer, a musician, a dancer, an athlete or even a yogi. And, when all that gets tiring, they can chill out in the student lounge, read a book or play a board game. City Kids offers free pick-up from PS 34 for kiddos in Pre-K through 5th grade.   • Williamsburg Soccer Club

    WSC provides fun and friendly soccer classes on a weekly basis for kids in Brooklyn ages 18 months - 10 years old. We play at several indoor and outdoor locations in Williamsburg, Greenpoint, East Williamsburg, and Bushwick.
