Our annual Read a Thon begins on Monday, March 6th. Reading is the main goal of the event and we would love to have all children participate.  Both children reading or being read to count in the number of minutes read which means all ages are able to participate.  This is also a fundraiser so we have set up individual pages for each student on 99 Pledges so children can also ask their friends and families to sponsor them in their reading goal (the fundraising aspect is encouraged but not a requirement to participate).     https://app.99pledges.com/fund/PS34Reads2023

This year we have some amazing prizes.  Prizes include Principal for the Day, Assistant Principal for the Day, and Cluster Teacher for the Day (winner gets to pick from Gym, Music, STEM, or Art).  The top reader will get to choose first, then runner up and finally top fundraiser.  After the main winners, the top reader for each class will receive a $20 gift certificate to Word Bookstores!

Also to keep with the goal of reading, we have a reading themed spirit week for the kids, Scholastic book fair all week, and cross grade reading.  Please see the attached flyers for more info.  We can't wait to see what these kids choose for their outfits!

Thank you for your help in making this a successful event!
